IMPORTANT NOTE: Click the Four Points Sheraton - Milwaukee Airport link to make your reservations directly with the hotel.

On August 18, 2007 the Emerald Society of Wisconsin will host the 12th Annual NCLEES Fall business meeting in Milwaukee. The host hotel is the Four Points Sheraton - Milwaukee Airport, located at 4747 South Howell Av. (Phone 414-481-8000 or Toll Free 800-558-3862). Rooms have been blocked for arrival on Thursday, August 16, 2007 and are good through Monday, August 20, 2007. The room rate is $119.00 + per night  (with a small charged for a roll-away bed) (If you would like to come in earlier or stay later, let us know well in advance so we can make arrangements to extend the rate.) When calling for reservations, make sure to mention that you are with the Emerald Society to get not only a special rate, but reservations made prior to June 30, 2007 will be eligible for a special drawing for that room to be free for the four day stay.

The cost for this weekend of Irish music and culture and family entertainment is $50.00 per person. This covers all costs for entry on the grounds for all four days, transportation to and from the grounds and our gala Thursday Hospitality. (The cost of tickets to Irishfest alone would be over $50.00.) Payment may be made in advance by mailing a check (made payable to the Emerald Society of Wisconsin) with a list of the names of the people coming to:

Jim Sanfilippo

Feirm Uí Mhadáin

N885 - 14th Rd

Montello, WI 53949-8813

While the actual meeting date is Saturday, August 18, 2007 starting at 10:00 AM, the weekend starts on Thursday, August 16, 2007. The Emerald Society of Wisconsin will host a hospitality room at the hotel for delegates to gather and get reacquainted. At 5:00 PM vans will be available to convey delegates and guests down to the Henry Meyer Festival Grounds, located at 200 N Harbor Dr, Milwaukee, on Milwaukee's beautiful lake front for the 27th Annual Milwaukee Irish Fest, the world's largest Irish Music festival. The fest runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Thursday. We will return to the hotel for a little more hospitality.

On Friday, the fest runs from 4:00 PM to Midnight. Shuttle vans will run on a regular schedule to and from the grounds. During the day we hope to have tours set up for Harley-Davidson, Miller Brewery and/or Miller Park (if the Brewers on on the road).

On Saturday we will have our meeting at the hotel. Complementary coffee and pastries will be served prior to the meeting. After the meeting, again we will have vans to take our guests to and from the grounds. We will also arrange transportation to the village of Greendale for those not attending the meeting. Greendale is one of three "Greenbelt Communities" built in the United States during the throes of the Great Depression under Franklin Roosevelt's "New Deal" laws. A pre-planned community to create jobs and provide families with good housing at reasonable rents. Come in and learn the unique and remarkable history of our proud community.

Irishfest has just announced the following; Milwaukee Irishfest is honored to welcome Ireland's Archbishop Sean BRADY to celebrate the Liturgy for Peace and Justice. Milwaukee's Archbishop (and Emerald Society of Wisconsin's Chaplain) Timothy DOLAN will concelebrate, making this the first time the two Archbishops have presided together over Mass. The Irishfest Mass is one of the largest outdoor Masses in the United States, aside from a Papal Mass and is scheduled to take place Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 9:30 AM in the Marcus Amphitheater (adjacent the Irishfest grounds). Archbishop BRADY was a professor at St. Patrick's College from 1967 - 1980. From there he became the Vice-Rector of the Irish College in Rome and went the Rector until 1993. Archbishop BRADY returned to Ireland to become the Parish Priest at Castletara, Co Cavan and became the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland in 1996 after succeeding the retirement of Cardinal Cahal B. DALY.  There will be regular shuttles running to and from the grounds for those who do not want to spend the entire day on the grounds or who would like to go back to the hotel to freshen up.
